When I was first elected to the House of Delegates in November 2014, the unemployment rate of Maryland was 5.5%. Now we stand at 4.2% (December 2016). At that time Wicomico’s unemployment rate was 7.6% and now it is 6.2% (December 2016). My focus in the state legislature has been on bringing jobs back to our area and while these numbers show the sort of progress we’ve made, there is still work to do, and it remains my focus.
